Dr. Cabezas attended the Universidad Central del Ecuador
in Quito, Ecuador and graduated in 1992 with a Medical Degree in Medicine and Surgery. Immediately after graduation, he became involved in clinical research and completed his fellowship in Clinical Genetics at the University of Miami’s Department of Pediatrics Division of Genetics. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Cabezas research and findings were published in several genetic journals resulting in the discovery of a new mental retardation disease. His findings were the basis for what is now known as Cabezas Syndrome
Dr. Cabezas completed his Family Practice Residency in one of the most prestigious residency programs in the mid-west at Kansas University Wesley Family Medicine Residency Program located in Wichita, Kansas. During his last year of his Family Medicine Residency, he served as a Chief Resident.
He is currently pursuing to become Board Certified in a new Urgent Care medical discipline and is constantly renewing his affinity for medicine. Dr. Cabezas is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, and enjoys spending time caring for his patient’s health.
